In this Cinema4D R20 tutorial, I’ll show you how to take the base model of a joystick, and turn it into a neon outline animation!
Of course you could use any model for this technique, but I thought it would be handy to get straight into it for this tutorial. If you have one single object, that would be simpler - but I thought starting with multiple parts brings its own challenges.
We’ll look at two ways of setting up the animation to achieve different gradient effects. We’ll be using the plane cut, edge to spline and exploding segments to set up the model for applying the octane materials correctly.
